Whispers Between the Lines: Celebrating National Poetry Month

Whispers Between the Lines: Celebrating National Poetry Month

April isn’t just about blooming flowers, longer days, and the return of bees and butterflies—it’s also National Poetry Month, and I’m here for it.

Poetry is more than just rhyme and rhythm; it’s a form of self-care, reflection, and creative expression that asks us to pause, feel, and listen. Whether you're pouring your soul into a notebook or soaking in someone else's verses over tea, poetry has this beautiful way of speaking to your spirit—and sometimes even helping you hear your own voice more clearly.

At Bia Vee Essentials, we believe that wellness isn't just about the body—it's about the whole you. That includes your emotions, your creativity, your memories, and your voice. This month is an invitation to reconnect with the pieces of yourself that speak softly but hold power.

So in honor of National Poetry Month, I wrote a little something for you:

Our Poem

 “Return to You”

When the world grows loud,
And the winds bend your thoughts like branches—
Return to you.

When the days blur into each other,
And your breath forgets its rhythm—
Return to you.

In ink-stained pages,
And half-sipped mugs of tea,
In soft sunlit windows,
And the scent of rosemary—
Return to you.

You are not a to-do list.
You are not just surviving.
You are a garden—still growing, still thriving.
Come home to your roots.
Return to you.

How to Celebrate Poetry Month:

Start a poetry journal. No pressure, no rules. Just you, your pen, and whatever flows.

Host a poetry night. Gather your people and share your favorite poems—or your own!

Explore poetry books from Black women authors, herbalists, and voices that align with your healing journey.

Write a haiku about your favorite plant or skincare ritual.

Pair poetry with wellness. Light a candle, run a bath, and read aloud to yourself. Let the words become a meditation.

Poetry doesn't have to be fancy or perfect. It just has to be you.

Let’s Get Creative Together

If you need a little poetic push, I’ll be sharing some prompts on Instagram this month to help you tap into your creative self. Let’s write, reflect, and reconnect—one beautiful line at a time.

Love always,
Bia Vee
